People want to be happy. I don’t know if it is because happiness has word of mouth advertisement, or because once you have a taste of happiness you know it’s a good feeling, but that is a fact: People want to be happy. I mean, if you are happy, what else is left to do?
The strange thing about this fact is another fact: there is a lot of unhappy people.
The difference between happy vis a vis unhappy is just a matter of strategy. Where most people make the mistake is on their focus regarding happiness. They think that there is a list of requirements that need to be fulfilled before happiness is achieved. This view is completely wrong. Most of us think that if we get the job, the wife/husband, the house, the kids, the dog, etc., then we will be happy. But then, life happens and we make another list of requirements, this time with the car, the roof, the school, the vet, etc., and this goes on and on.
Meanwhile, happiness is waiting for you to finish your requirements list.
Here is the paradox. If you do things the other way around, and you decide to focus on your happiness, at this moment, then something very special happens: you find the perfect job, the best wife/husband, the right house, the happiest kids, and even the cutest dog. But even more important, you are happy.
So here is what I propose to you. Decide to be happy today. Decide to make yourself happy (responsibly, by the way). Decide to be honest with yourself. And then commit to YOUR happiness, not the highest good for Humanity or your family or community, for Yourself.
Don’t put your happiness on hold.
Love to all.
